At the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at Pomona Dragstrip, Chad Webber and Casey Plaizier both achieved remarkable milestones by securing their first world championship titles. Their victories came amidst a challenging race weekend, which began with early eliminations for several categories due to adverse weather forecasts.

Webber clinched his Super Comp title by defeating Douglas Johnson in the final, running a time of 8.911 seconds at 167 mph, while Plaizier won the Top Dragster championship after his opponent, Aaron Steinkey, was unable to compete in the final round.

Other winners included Jason Grima in Competition Eliminator, John Calvert in Super Stock, Leo Glasbrenner in Stock Eliminator, Ed DeStaute in Super Gas, and Bryan Warr in Top Sportsman. Each displayed impressive skill and strategy, with notable performances throughout the weekend.

Grima, running a 6.998 at 187 mph, edged out Melissa Murphy for his first national Wally. Calvert marked his fifth with an 8.489 at 154 mph against Ryan McClanahan. Glasbrenner secured his 13th title with a narrow win over Joe Sorensen. DeStaute’s win was his first in over ten years, while Warr faced a competitive final against Ed Olpin.
