Randy Weatherford dominated the inaugural $125,000 IHRA Outlaw Pro Mod Nationals at Darana Dragway in Milan, winning the championship on Saturday. Weatherford, the top qualifier, advanced through the rounds with victories over Bubba Greene, Kurt Steding, and Robin Roberts, ultimately facing No. 7 qualifier Kallee Mills in the final. Weatherford’s strong start with a .024-second reaction time helped him secure the win, clocking a 3.601-second finish at 210.38 mph, narrowly beating Mills, who recorded 3.604 seconds at 207.47 mph. Weatherford expressed his elation, sharing that winning the IHRA Ironman trophy was a significant achievement.

In other categories, Dillon Voss captured his first IHRA Ironman in Mountain Motor Pro Stock when his final opponent, John Montecalvo, timed out. Voss previously defeated Kurt Neighbor and top qualifier Dwayne Rice before posting a 4.843-second pass at 172.88 mph in the final. Justin Sowders secured the Top Sportsman title with a 4.255-second run on a 4.23 dial, edging past Mike Badia.

Additionally, Howard Michael won the 64-car IHRA Top Bulb Shootout with a reaction time of .008 seconds and a time of 4.744 seconds at 143.91 mph. This weekend was particularly special for Michael as it coincided with his birthday and anniversary. The IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series is set to take place from September 3-6 at Darana Raceway in Hebron, Ohio.
