Jordan Vandergriff, a newcomer in Funny Car, secured his second victory of the season for John Force Racing at Sonoma Raceway, defeating Daniel Wilkerson in the Denso NHRA Sonoma Nationals final. Vandergriff clocked in at 3.900 seconds at 330.72 mph, showcasing his team’s impressive performance after making significant changes post-Norwalk. His decisive win placed him second in points standings.

In Top Fuel, Doug Kalitta dominated, achieving his seventh Sonoma win against Jasmine Salinas with a time of 3.731 seconds. This victory continues his legacy at Sonoma, and he remains a strong contender for the championship with a close point gap behind his teammate. Kalitta acknowledged the special significance of this win, dedicating it to crew chief Alan Johnson.

In Pro Stock, Greg Stanfield triumphed over teammate Erica Enders in a nail-biting final, winning by a narrow margin with a run of 6.551 seconds. This marked Stanfield’s second consecutive victory at Sonoma, reinforcing the dominance of Elite Motorsports as all four cars at the event advanced to the semifinals.

The event drew sellout crowds over three days, marking a successful edition of the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. With the next race scheduled for July 24-26 in Seattle, excitement continues to build in the racing community.
