In two weeks, Beech Bend Raceway Park will host the Speedfest event from May 28-30, where Top Fuel driver Cameron Ferre will attempt to break the track record. Speedfest showcases a mix of three street-legal drag racing series—Sick, Street Car Takeover, and Braggin Rights—alongside jet funny cars and a spectacular laser show. Ferre, who recently reached the finals at the IHRA Spring Nationals, expressed enthusiasm about competing so close to his team’s base in Huntsville, Alabama.

“It’s exciting for our local fans, as there aren’t many opportunities to see a Top Fuel Dragster in Alabama,” he noted. Ferre aims to clock a time quicker than the current record of 5.15 seconds in the quarter-mile at Beech Bend, believing that the team’s recent success positions them well for this challenge. Team owner Jerry Freeman brings a wealth of experience from racing globally, adding to their confidence.

Speedfest will feature three days of events, starting with tech and testing on Thursday, qualifying on Friday, and racing on Saturday. The Freeman Top Fuel team will attempt their record-breaking runs both Friday and Saturday nights. With online discount tickets available, and free admission for kids under 12, this promises to be an exciting drag racing showcase for enthusiasts and families alike.
