ICU Racing

Motorsports icon Tony Stewart has expressed reluctance about racing in the Pro Mod drag class, despite his extensive background in various racing disciplines. In a recent interview on the Shake & Bake Show, Stewart humorously noted that he feels driving a fuel car is easier than piloting a Pro Mod. His apprehension stems from his early experiences attending NHRA events, particularly while dating Leah Pruett, where he often witnessed Pro Mods tipping over, drawing parallels to sprint car racing.

He emphasized the unique challenges Pro Mods present, stating, “They may be slower, but man, I look at those bodies and I’m like, golly, they have no side force in them.” He likened the experience to the dynamics of racing at Daytona and Talladega, highlighting the potential dangers involved. While he hasn’t completely ruled out the possibility of driving a Pro Mod, Stewart acknowledges that he would need more practice to compete successfully in that class.

Currently, he remains focused on his full-time Top Fuel racing campaign, where he is experiencing significant momentum. For now, it appears that switching to Pro Mods is not in Stewart’s immediate plans, as he continues to prioritize his activities within the Top Fuel circuit.
