LS Fest Texas celebrates the grandeur of Texas automotive culture, focusing on GM’s LS and LT engines. This multi-day event, held at the Texas Motor Speedway, attracts car enthusiasts with activities like autocross, drag racing, and the infamous Burnout Wars. Burnout Wars is a crowd favorite, with participants showcasing their cars while destroying tires in a captivating display of smoke and power, where the spectacle overshadows traditional judging criteria.

The festival features various competitions, including drift and autocross events on a versatile infield road course, which can be adjusted for difficulty using traffic cones. Competitors showcase their driving skills, navigating sharp turns and tight corners at high speeds, often with vehicles from diverse brands modified to house LS engines.

Additionally, the 3S Challenge tests contestants on speed, stopping, and steering through a constrained course, ensuring constant engagement. Due to the absence of a dedicated drag strip at the venue, LS Fest Texas improvises with a no-prep eighth-mile drag racing setup in the pit lane, adding an extra layer of challenge with traction issues.

Amidst the heat and humidity, attendance grows yearly, making LS Fest a must-visit event for car lovers and racers alike. The festival emphasizes not just competition but also a shared passion for automotive excellence within the vibrant Texas community.
