The NMRA introduced Coyote Stock in 2012, attracting racers nationwide due to its heads-up class featuring sealed Coyote engines. However, the NMRA ceased operations at the end of 2024, prompting Coyote Stock racers to seek a new venue. Raul Torres, owner of South Georgia Motorsports Park and a former NMRA racer, stepped up to host Coyote Stock at the Spring Break Ford Nationals and Muscle Car Mayhem events in 2025 and 2026.

Aaron Worstell, a former Coyote Stock racer and champion at the inaugural Spring Break Ford Nationals, emphasized the need to sustain the class, noting the reliance on Ford to provide new sealed Coyote engines. To energize participation in the class, plans were announced for the inaugural Team Z Motorsports Coyote Stock St. Louis Shootout, scheduled for June 20, 2026, at World Wide Technology Raceway. The event has garnered support from various sponsors and aims to attract more racers.

Worstell and others are working diligently to keep Coyote Stock alive, highlighting its appeal as an entry-level heads-up racing class marked by thrilling wheelstands and tight competition. The class will also feature in subsequent events throughout 2026 across various venues. Dave Zimmerman of Team Z Motorsports hopes for Coyote Stock’s establishment in another organization, emphasizing its affordability and the excitement of chassis tuning required for success in the sport.
