The Southeast Gassers Association (SEGA) is set to return to Alabama after nearly five years with the Bama Brawl at Holiday Raceway in Woodstock, kicking off its 2026 championship season. This marks the first time Holiday Raceway, established in 1968 and known for its grassroots vibe, will host SEGA events, with the Bama Brawl being the second race on the schedule. SEGA last held a championship race in Alabama at Lassiter Mountain Dragway, and the anticipation for the revival among racers and fans is high.

The region showcases its competitive spirit through the “Bama Bunch,” a cohort of seasoned racers like Dean, Oden, and Rainwater, who have earned recognition across various classes, including Super Stock and A/Gas.

The event promises an exciting weekend kickstarted by a Friday evening test and tune session exclusively for competitors. Qualifying begins on Saturday at 1:00 PM Central, followed by heads-up eliminations to determine champions in each category. With this event, SEGA aims to reignite the excitement of nostalgia drag racing in Alabama, blending history and competitive racing in a spirited atmosphere.
