Sean Madden’s dream is a black-on-black C7 ZR1, a rare Corvette. However, opting for practicality, he built a 2016 Z06 aiming to become the quickest and fastest H-pattern stick shift car worldwide. With experience in stick-shift racing, Sean felt limited by his previous white Corvette and sought a new project.

After posting on Facebook, he found a rough Corvette shell in Pennsylvania, which he purchased despite its condition. Collaborating with friend Taylor Thurston, they transformed the vehicle, fabricating parts and modifying the chassis for optimal performance. The Z06 was fitted with high-quality components, including a 498 cubic-inch small-block Chevy engine built in collaboration with Visner Engine Development and JA Competition, along with a Waterman fuel system and a Holley Dominator ECU for control.

Sean chose a crank-driven F-4 136 ProCharger for consistent boost delivery, a decision that diverged from the common turbo setups used by competitors. His innovative approach paid off as his Corvette achieved a record-breaking time of 6.55 seconds at 214 mph, making it the fastest stick-shift Corvette to date.

Sean aims to reach a personal milestone: a 3.99-second run in the eighth mile with the T56 transmission. While he may not own a C7 ZR1, his Z06 is an impressive contender in the world of H-pattern stick-shift racing, where he’s determined to make a mark.
