The Festival of Power at Santa Pod Raceway marks its 60th anniversary this April, promising an exhilarating Easter weekend filled with championship drag racing and family fun. Fans can look forward to thrilling competitions, including four supercharged Funny Cars that exceed 10,000 horsepower and often surpass 300 mph as they vie for the Funny Car Cup. Reigning champion Susanne Callin, along with Colin Millar who is making his Top Fuel debut, adds to the excitement in the Top Fuel Dragster division. A highlight for spectators will be the jet car showcase, featuring vehicles like Oklahoma Willy, a VW pickup truck propelled by a Rolls-Royce fighter jet engine, and a steam-powered rocket motorcycle designed by Graham Sykes aiming to outpace traditional dragsters.

Additionally, nearly 300 cars will participate in the opening round of the British Drag Racing Championship, with free paddock access for fans to see the teams’ behind-the-scenes work. The adrenaline doesn’t stop at the track; the Live Action Arena will host world-record stunt driver Terry Grant alongside freestyle motocross riders, alongside family activities like racing simulators and dinosaur walkabouts. To top it off, attendees can enjoy free overnight camping and live evening music. The Festival of Power runs from April 3 to April 5, ensuring a spectacular start to a momentous racing season.
