The PDRA Mid-Atlantic Showdown took place at Virginia Motorsports Park, showcasing thrilling races and notable upsets. In the Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous class, Marcus Butner secured his first win after overcoming challenges, defeating Amber Denton in the finals with a 3.639 at 208.55 MPH. Butner’s performance included consistently strong qualifying, landing him as the second qualifier.

In Pro Boost, Kurt Steding triumphed over reigning champion Jason Harris after a red light for Harris, running a low E.T. of 3.615 at 208.97 MPH. The tightly packed field included 23 cars vying for 16 spots. In Liberty’s Gears Pro Street, Fletcher Cox debuted successfully, making it to the semi-finals before Ethan Steding, the current champion, captured the win against Blake Denton.

In the AED Competition Fuel Systems Extreme Pro Stock, Jeremy Huffman notched a long-awaited victory over Steven Boone in the finals, running the weekend’s best time of 4.085.

Pro 632 saw Kyle Salminen secure his first PDRA event win after defeating Jeff Melnick, while Super Street highlighted Austin Vincent’s win, marking his first triumph in the PDRA.

In the sportsman divisions, Glenn Butcher won in Elite Top Sportsman, and Danielle Gonzalez in top spot for Top Dragster, while Emma Crane posted a perfect run in JR Dragster. The next PDRA event is scheduled for May 22-24 in Norwalk, Ohio.
