At the NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio, the heat and humidity set the stage as the top qualifiers from Friday maintained their positions into Sunday. Justin Ashley led in Top Fuel with a 3.752-second pass, marking his first No. 1 qualifier of the season and seventh overall. He will face Scott Farley in the first elimination round. Antron Brown and Tony Stewart followed, securing the second and third spots, respectively.

In Funny Car, Cruz Pedregon achieved a 3.890-second run, claiming his 65th career No. 1 qualifier. He will race Buddy Hull in the eliminations. Austin Prock, the defending champion, qualified second, with Ron Capps in third.

Greg Anderson retained his No. 1 qualifying position in Pro Stock with a 6.594-second run, while Dallas Glenn and Matt Hartford followed in second and third places.

In Pro Stock Motorcycle, six-time world champion Matt Smith secured the top spot for the first time this season with a 6.816-second run on his Denso Auto Parts Buell. Gaige Herrera and John Hall filled the second and third slots, respectively.

Eliminations are set to begin at 11 a.m. EDT Sunday, as the championship chase intensifies in this 20-race season.
