Scott Palmer, a beloved figure in drag racing, remains undeterred by a recent crash at the World Series of Pro Modified in Bradenton, Florida. Following a serious incident two years ago, Palmer experienced a “much-gentler” mishap due to a stuck throttle, which prevented him from fully deploying his parachute in time. While attempting a soft run to gather data for tuning, he misjudged the situation, leading to the crash that damaged his 1963 Corvette. Fortunately, he emerged unscathed, thanks in part to safety equipment from Stroud Safety and a robust rollcage that withstood the impact.

Palmer acknowledged social media criticism regarding his response time in deploying the parachutes, admitting he could have acted sooner but reinforcing that the throttle issue was unexpected. Despite this setback, he remains committed to the sport and intends to return for the next season. He plans to practice more frequently to improve his performance with the Pro Mod vehicle. Palmer appreciates the support from his team and sponsors, expressing gratitude for their contributions and dedication to his racing efforts. He is determined to rebuild and continue competing, sharing a message of resilience: he is not a quitter and looks forward to achieving better results in the future.
