The IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series kicked off at Darana Raceway, featuring a groundbreaking weekend where Scott Palmer and Mike McIntire clinched wins in Top Fuel and Funny Car, respectively. Both racers received a $50,000 prize and the prestigious IHRA Ironman trophy, with the events streamed live on IHRA.TV.

Palmer, driving the Professional Bull Riders dragster, achieved victory in Top Fuel with a time of 3.958 seconds at 314.24 mph, narrowly beating Krista Baldwin who posted a strong 4.125 seconds run. This win marked Palmer’s first IHRA Top Fuel triumph since 2008.

In the Funny Car category, McIntire, who had qualified first, secured his win with a time of 4.166 seconds at 293.41 mph, edging out former world champion Del Worsham. McIntire dedicated his win to his late father, emphasizing his emotional connection to the race.

Frankie “Mad Man” Taylor won in Pro Mod with a solo run clocked at 3.726 seconds, while Larry Morgan took the Pro Stock win due to Derrick Reese’s red light. Other notable wins included Bob Malloy in Top Fuel Harley and Jackie Fricke in Top Alcohol Dragster.

The series will continue at Milan Dragway in Michigan from July 23–26, promising further thrilling competition.
