At the 17th annual NHRA 4-Wide Carolina Nationals held at zMax Dragway in Concord, N.C., Billy Banaka emerged victorious in the Pro Modified category, clinching first place with a time of 6.551 seconds at 140.63 mph. The race, part of the Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series, is the eighth of ten events in the series. Following Banaka were Mike Castellana in second place and Sidnei Frigo in third, though both contenders faced issues during the finals.

In the opening rounds, Castellana recorded a notable 5.715 seconds in the first round, while other racers like Alex Laughlin and Mason Wright also showcased strong performances. Semifinal matchups saw Castellana and Banaka advancing after defeating their respective opponents.

Following the event, the point standings in the Pro Modified category revealed Banaka leading with 941 points, trailed closely by Mike Stavrinos and Sidnei Frigo. This race highlighted the competitive nature of the series as racers like Mason Wright and JR Gray also fought for vital points. This championship continues to be fiercely contested, with only a couple of races left in the season.
