Michael Judd’s journey with his 1973 Plymouth Duster, nicknamed “Déjà Vu,” is a testament to the cyclical nature of passion and persistence in the automotive world. Initially acquired in 2014, Judd aimed to part out the car but soon found himself fond of its potential for small tire radial racing. After repeatedly selling it, the Duster continuously returned to him, each time transformed—its color changing to a more appealing green.

As the owner of Judd’s Garage in Kentucky and a drag racing participant since 2013, Judd strove to make a mark in various racing categories, even capturing championships at local dragstrips. The Duster underwent significant modifications, including a race-ready chassis and a modern Gen III HEMI engine. Despite a frustrating streak of bad luck with engines, Judd’s fortunes turned when he teamed up with Blackbird Performance, leading to substantial performance upgrades.

In 2025, equipped with a robust 360 cubic inch engine and turbocharged setup, Judd debuted the Duster at Holley’s MoParty event, clinching victory in the King of Street class. To date, he has achieved impressive performance metrics, including a personal best of 4.70 seconds in the eighth mile.

Judd’s dedication, alongside the support from family and friends, has solidified his place in competitive racing. Having embraced the Duster as a lasting companion, he’s focused on maintaining momentum in the fast-paced Ultra Street category, marking a fitting culmination of his decade-long journey with the iconic vehicle.
