Tony Stewart Racing (TSR) has announced that Matt Hagan has signed a multi-year contract extension to continue driving the Dodge//SRT Hellcat Funny Car in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. A native of Virginia, Hagan is a four-time NHRA Funny Car champion with 53 national event wins, currently ranking second in the championship standings. He began his Funny Car career in 2008, earning a full-time ride in 2009, and won his first race in 2010. Hagan attributes much of his success to his relationship with TSR and Dodge, stating that they provide everything needed to succeed.

Hagan, who has dedicated 18 years to driving Dodge vehicles, continues to be a key figure for the brand, embodying the role of a “Dodge Ambassador.” Dodge CEO Matt McAlear praised Hagan for his contributions to the brand and the drag racing program. Supporting the team are sponsors like Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage (JHG) and American Rebel Light Beer, both expressing excitement for their continued partnership. JHG, known for its extensive car collection, aims to inspire automotive progress through their collaboration with TSR.

Hagan’s crew includes Mike Knudsen, who is entering his first season as crew chief, and Phil Shuler, both of whom have established a strong working relationship. TSR has achieved 19 victories since its inception, with Hagan contributing 14 wins and securing the team’s first championship in 2023. The next event in the series is scheduled for August 14-17, 2025, at Brainerd International Raceway.
