Meanwhile, fellow competitor Tony Stewart claimed the second position with a time of 3.758 seconds, and Doug Kalitta followed closely in third at 3.762 seconds.

In the Funny Car category, J.R. Todd achieved a personal best and the quickest Funny Car run of the season at 3.887 seconds, placing him first in qualifying. Todd expressed optimism about his team’s performance, highlighting successful adjustments made to cope with track conditions.

Greg Anderson dominated Pro Stock qualifying, driving his Chevrolet Camaro to a 6.498-second run, while in Pro Stock Motorcycle, Matt Smith led with a 6.669-second pass on his Buell, marking the first run in the 6.60s for the season.
