John Force Racing has announced that two-time NHRA Top Fuel winner Josh Hart will drive its Top Fuel dragster starting with the 2026 NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida, marking the beginning of the NHRA’s 75th anniversary season. Hart, a native of Huntington, Indiana, will succeed Brittany Force, a two-time Top Fuel world champion who plans to retire from competition at the end of the 2025 season to focus on family. The team will maintain crew chiefs Dave Grubnic and John Collins, along with primary sponsorship from Hart’s Burnyzz Speed Shop.

Hart expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, acknowledging the impact of Brittany Force on the sport. He sees his move to John Force Racing as a chance to learn from the best team in drag racing history. He is only the third driver to join the organization’s Top Fuel lineup, alongside John Force and Austin Prock.

Hart launched his Top Fuel team in 2021, achieving immediate success by winning his series debut at the Gatornationals and a second victory at the Carolina Nationals. He has consistently qualified for the Countdown to the Championship and is currently ranked 10th in the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Top Fuel standings. Hart aims to focus on winning races for the remainder of the season while announcing this new chapter amidst speculation about his future. Further details will be revealed at the season’s end, as the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series continues.
