The NHRA New England Nationals at Epping, New Hampshire, has been a significant venue for John Force, the sport’s legendary driver, who has achieved three crucial victories there: in 2015, 2021, and 2022. His most recent win marked his 157th career victory, but shortly after, Force suffered a severe injury in a crash, leading Jack Beckman to take over driving his PEAK Chevrolet Camaro.

Entering the latest race from the fifth position, Beckman had a promising start, overcoming Daniel Wilkerson in round one and recording the fastest run of the round with a time of 3.878 seconds against Blake Alexander. In the semi-finals, however, things took a turn. Beckman faced rookie Spencer Hyde but experienced severe tire issues that resulted in a devastating crash, sending him into the guardrail and causing extensive damage to the car. Thankfully, Beckman emerged unhurt and reassured fans by climbing onto the car’s roof to show he was okay.

He described the incident as unpredictable, noting the violent shakes before he lost control. While disappointed by the crash, Beckman remained optimistic about future races, mentioning they would switch to a spare car for the upcoming Bristol race. He emphasized the challenges of the mishap but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to recover and compete effectively.
