In June 2022, Zane Diamond-Odell entered the drag racing scene unexpectedly, motivated by a call from Kye Kelley of Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings who offered him a spot on his team. A car enthusiast since childhood, Diamond-Odell had prior training in technical schools but lacked racing experience, mainly focusing on car aesthetics and audio systems. After graduating from a heavy-duty diesel program, he was recommended to Kelley by college friends who were part of a racing team.

Upon joining, Diamond-Odell quickly faced challenges, learning on the go as the crew member assigned to onboard him departed shortly after. His initial experience with big-tire cars expanded into various racing types, including Pro Mod, requiring rapid skill development. He credits his quick adaptation to knowledgeable mentors, including Kelley and other industry veterans, who taught him car maintenance and strategy.

His breakthrough came when Kelley won the Snowbird Outlaw Nationals, a victory that exceeded their expectations and highlighted their potential as a team. Diamond-Odell’s continuing journey includes working full-time for Kelley across different ventures, from the race shop to managing a dirt oval track. At 25, he aims to deepen his mechanical knowledge and eventually become a tuner, driven by the desire to excel in drag racing and build on the invaluable support he has received.
