The Summit Racing Equipment Mid-West Drag Racing Series (MWDRS) is expanding its lineup with the introduction of the Quarter-Max Pro Extreme Exhibition Class for the last two events of the 2026 season. This new class will debut at Tulsa Raceway Park on October 23-24, followed by a return at Xtreme Raceway Park on November 6-7. Instead of adding another championship division outright, series officials aim to use this exhibition to gauge interest and engagement from racers, fans, and sponsors for a potential permanent inclusion in 2027.

MWDRS owner Keith Haney stressed the importance of feedback in decision-making, stating that this initiative reflects the series’ commitment to its racers. The class, supported by title sponsor Quarter-Max Race Cars, aims to reduce power-adder restrictions, offering more teams a competitive chance and creating unpredictable racing. Clyde Scott from Quarter-Max shared enthusiasm about the class’s potential, emphasizing the excitement it can generate for both racers and fans.

The exhibition will feature a traditional event format with an $18,000 guaranteed purse, including substantial payouts for winners and high placements. Driver entry is straightforward, with specific rules in place to ensure safety and fairness. MWDRS is also considering adding the class to the September Smackdown event, highlighting its proactive approach to evaluating and potentially expanding the competition landscape based on racer and fan input.
