The IHRA is preparing for its 2025 racing season, announcing details about its Outlaw Nitro Series, which will consist of five races featuring diverse classes competing for substantial purses. The professional classes include Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, Mountain Motor Pro Stock, Pro Mod, Pro Nitrous, and Outlaw Snowmobiles. Additionally, sportsman racing will feature categories like Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, and more.

The race schedule is as follows:
– July 9-12: National Trail Raceway
– July 23-26: Milan Dragway
– September 3-6: National Trail Raceway
– September 24-27: Dragway 42
– November 5-8: GALOT Motorsports Park

Distinctive prize purses have been established for professional nitro classes, with the winner receiving $50,000, the runner-up $25,000, semifinalists $20,000, and first-round participants $15,000. Non-qualifiers finishing 9th-12th will each earn $7,500, competing within eight-car fields.

This setup offers an enticing opportunity for smaller nitro teams to compete for significant financial rewards while gaining valuable testing experience. As teams evaluate their options, interest in participating in the IHRA is expected to rise as they aim to capitalize on the offered purses.
