Keith Berry, a celebrated drag racer and event promoter, passed away on November 3 at 53, following years of health challenges. He was not just a racer but a passionate supporter of the drag racing community, embodying an engaging personality that drew many friends, including the Drag Illustrated team.

Berry’s journey in racing began unexpectedly in 2008 when he attended a local event that instigated his love for drag racing. Starting with a modestly modified Corvette, his career surged as he consistently broke records, eventually becoming a back-to-back NMCA Radial Wars champion. His magnetic personality helped him rise from obscurity to a well-known figure in racing, where he established his “WOOOO! Nation” brand, reflecting both a party spirit and a commitment to making a positive difference.

Balancing racing and business, Berry ran a successful family plumbing company while continually striving for excellence. He was driven to succeed, both on the track and in life, adopting a mindset that rejected mediocrity. Despite facing the pressures of competition, he cherished moments with his crew, finding joy in their shared victories.

Beyond his competitive nature, Berry was known for his humor and relatability. He was dedicated to giving back to his fans, particularly inspiring young enthusiasts. His legacy is marked by both his racing achievements and his commitment to helping others, leaving a lasting impact on the drag racing community.
