Greg Anderson’s legacy is firmly established as he achieved a significant milestone at the 71st annual Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals, securing his 138th No. 1 qualifying start driving the HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro. This achievement ties him with Pro Stock pioneer Warren Johnson for the most No. 1 qualifiers in the class’s history. Anderson, who previously broke Johnson’s record for the most wins in Pro Stock, now boasts 111 national event victories, ranking him second on NHRA’s all-time win list behind John Force.

The highlight of Anderson’s qualifying performance this season includes his sixth No. 1 start, showcasing his dominance across the qualifying rounds. He expressed his determination to honor his late team owner Ken Black, having already clinched the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge win and championship prior to qualifying. Anderson excelled throughout the qualifying sessions, earning 18 bonus points and narrowing the gap between himself and points leader Dallas Glenn, who is just two points ahead.

As they face off for the regular season championship, Anderson and Glenn’s rivalry culminates during the U.S. Nationals, adding excitement to the event. Anderson is set to compete against Mason McGaha in the first round, emphasizing the competitive spirit of both drivers. Eliminations are scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m. on Labor Day Monday at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, promising an exhilarating conclusion to the event.
