After a promising start in Gainesville, where Greg advanced past the first round but lost in the second, the father-son dynamic adds a personal heat to their upcoming race.

During qualifying, Anderson struggled initially, recording a 6.575-second pass, then improving to 6.553 in the second session, ultimately securing the fourth spot. Despite challenging conditions, he acknowledged the need for further improvement, particularly with their starting line performance, identifying low gear as a current Achilles’ heel.

Anderson, who holds the track speed record at Route 66 Raceway and is a two-time winner there, currently ranks second in the Mission Foods Drag Racing Pro Stock standings, 76 points behind reigning champion Dallas Glenn. He emphasized the importance of early acceleration, as performance in the first 60 feet could determine the race’s outcome.
