At the NHRA Southern Nationals, held for the first time at South Georgia Motorsports Park, six-time champion Greg Anderson made a strong impression in the Pro Stock category. Driving the HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro from KB Titan Racing, Anderson excelled on an unfamiliar racing surface. During the first qualifying session, he clocked a rapid 6.498-second run at 210.60 mph, earning three bonus points and marking the beginning of a strategic learning process for the team. In the second session, the power generated exceeded the track’s grip, leading to challenges.

Anderson remarked on the venue’s quality, noting its history as a testing ground for racers and expressed enthusiasm about returning after a decade. He acknowledged the unique conditions that affected performance, mentioning a slight miscalculation during the second run but remained optimistic about making necessary adjustments for Saturday.

With favorable weather predicted, two final rounds of qualifying and the Mission #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge—featuring semifinalists from the previous race—are set for the day. Fellow KB Titan drivers, including Matt Latino and Charlotte winner Matt Hartford, will also compete in the specialty event. If Anderson maintains his lead, it will mark his 144th No. 1 qualifier award. He expressed appreciation for the local fan support and excitement for the competitive weekend ahead, emphasizing the high-stakes nature of the races leading to the Countdown to the Championship. Qualifying starts at 12:30 p.m. ET.
