Reflecting on his performance, Latino, a member of the Canadian Drag Racing Hall of Fame, expressed excitement upon realizing he had surpassed teammate Dallas Glenn’s run for the top spot. In addition to his No. 1 qualifier position, Latino earned three bonus points for being the quickest in the second qualifier.
Looking ahead, Latino is set to race against his son, Matt, a Rookie of the Year candidate, on Sunday. Although Matt faced some challenges earlier, he secured his place in the field with a notable 6.577 run.
Currently, Glenn holds the No. 2 position, while KBT teammate Cory Reed is in third. Other prominent competitors include Matt Hartford in fourth and Greg Anderson in seventh. Additional qualifying sessions are scheduled for Saturday, September 28.
