Dystany Spurlock, a record-breaking motorcycle drag racer, is embarking on a major transition to NASCAR, aiming to compete in the ARCA Menards Series this season. If successful, she will become the first Black woman to race in NASCAR’s top feeder division. Spurlock is taking a deliberate and structured approach to this shift, starting by gaining experience on the track with late model stock cars at Hickory Motor Speedway. Her strategy includes obtaining NASCAR approval to enter an ARCA Menards Series East event in late March, with aspirations of participating in a national ARCA event later on.

Support from MBM Motorsports and veteran owner Carl Long is crucial as she navigates this challenging new terrain. Notably, Spurlock plans to balance her NASCAR aspirations with her ongoing commitment to the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class, where she will continue racing in 2026. This dual focus represents a rare and ambitious challenge in motorsports. Her journey will be chronicled in “Driven by Dystany: The Road to NASCAR,” offering an inside look at the determination needed to break into the sport. Spurlock emphasizes the significance of this transition, stating it’s not just about career advancement, but also a testament to overcoming obstacles. With her notable achievements on two wheels, the racing community eagerly anticipates how she will adapt to the demands of four-wheel racing.
