Dustin Smiley extended his winning streak at the Fling events, capturing the $25,000 purse at the JEGS Performance Door Car Fling presented by OPTIMA Batteries at GALOT Motorsports Park. Facing off against Jeff Verdi in an all-Pontiac final round, the two drivers competed fiercely among 353 entries. Smiley’s Grand Prix secured victory with a .015 reaction time after Verdi’s ‘66 GTO turned just one thousandth red. This win marks Smiley’s third consecutive victory at GALOT, following a $50K win in spring and a $15K win in 2024.

In the semi-finals, Verdi’s total package eliminated Greg Walker’s ‘68 Camaro, while Smiley’s impressive runs helped him defeat Dakota Pugh, who faced a breakout situation at the finish line. The remaining eight drivers included Kevin Pollard, Shannon Joseph, and others, with Pugh narrowly edging out Pollard but ultimately falling behind Smiley in the next rounds.

The excitement continues at the Door Car Fling with upcoming events featuring the Function Enterprises and OEM Combustion Service, each offering $25K purses.
