On the latest episode of The Shake & Bake Show, Dustin Hart, founder of Harts Turbos, discussed the extensive development process for the Harts Charger centrifugal supercharger. Known for their custom turbochargers, Hart laid out the journey over the past three and a half years aimed at creating a competitive blower in the drag racing scene. The project began with the challenge of translating his expertise in turbochargers to the centrifugal platform, addressing differences in mechanics such as gear drives and oiling systems.

Hart shared that early prototypes showed potential but struggled with consistency until significant breakthroughs occurred in late 2023, coinciding with feedback from racers like Larry Larson. The goal was to develop a blower that could withstand the rigorous demands of modern racing without frequent maintenance. As interest grew from more competitors, Hart emphasized collaboration, noting that racer feedback was vital in refining the product.

The NHRA has approved the Harts Charger, though its official debut in NHRA Pro Mod will be delayed until 2026, a decision Hart supports to avoid mid-season disruptions. Looking ahead, he expressed intentions to expand the product line for different racing classes and possibly street applications. Overall, for Hart, the Harts Charger marks the beginning of a new chapter focused on performance and continual improvement in the competitive motorsports arena.
