Doug Kalitta triumphed in the weather-delayed Right Trailers All-Star Callout, defeating Brittany Force in an electrifying final-round duel during the NHRA Winternationals at Pomona Dragstrip, California. Initially set for the season opener in Gainesville, this special event features the top eight drivers from the previous season, who earn qualifying points leading up to the callout. Kalitta, the second seed, began by defeating Clay Millican with a fast 3.684-second run before overcoming reigning champion Antron Brown in the semifinals. Although Kalitta’s dragster faced mechanical issues, he still managed a solid 3.736-second pass to advance to the finals against Force, who had previously clocked impressive times of 3.646 and 3.641 seconds.

In the final race, Kalitta and Force launched simultaneously, but Kalitta quickly pulled ahead, securing victory with a time of 3.657 seconds at 335.15 mph, as Force finished with a 3.764-second run. Kalitta expressed gratitude to his team and sponsors, highlighting the significance of the win, especially in front of the Pomona crowd. He praised Right Trailers for their support and expressed enthusiasm for the event’s future. At the midpoint of qualifying, Kalitta ranks second, with Shawn Langdon in 13th, while J.R. Todd holds eighth in Funny Car, as both Kalitta and Langdon get ready for the Mission Foods #2Fast2Tasty NHRA Challenge.
