Scott Chitty from Uniontown, Ohio, has made drag racing a central part of his life, influenced by his father, Terry Chitty. Starting at just eight years old in Jr. Dragsters, Scott’s racing journey has been filled with successes, including memorable victories at the Thunder Valley Challenge and two track championships at Summit Motorsports Park. Transitioning to a 1992 Chevy Camaro in the Sportsman class, Chitty found success in index racing, which he prefers for its competitive nature. At 30, he has secured five track championships in various index classes, showcasing his talent on the drag racing circuit.

Chitty’s career highlights include winning his first Ironman trophy and excelling at prestigious events like Norwalk’s Night Under Fire. Recently, he won a race driving a borrowed 1981 AMC Spirit after facing challenges with his Camaro. Outside racing, Chitty works at Charlie’s Garage, a family-owned automotive service shop, where he cherishes working alongside his father. His mother’s legacy plays a significant role in his life and memories of family road trips are especially dear to him.

Additionally, Chitty crews for Glenn Butcher’s Top Sportsman Camaro and enjoys slot car racing in winter. His future racing goals include improving in both Top and Sportsman classes, pursuing more championships, and nurturing the friendships he has formed within the vibrant racing community, emphasizing the joy of shared experiences in the sport.
