The NHRA Countdown to the Championship races continued at zMAX Dragway in Mooresville, N.C., featuring the hometown team KB Titan Racing. Dallas Glenn, driving the RAD Torque Systems Chevrolet, led the Pro Stock pack, while defending champion Greg Anderson, in his HendrickCars.com Camaro, tied Glenn’s elapsed time but finished second based on speed. Glenn aims for his 12th No. 1 qualifier award and is riding a hot streak, having secured the provisional pole last week at Maple Grove Raceway. He expressed confidence in his car’s performance, acknowledging that four-wide races bring added pressure and chaos.

In the first qualifying round, Anderson recorded a strong 6.557-second pass, while Glenn placed fifth. Their teammate Eric Latino took third with a solid time as well. KB Titan Racing dominated the top positions, with six drivers in the top eight spots. In the second qualifying round, Glenn clocked the quickest time overall at 6.535 seconds, earning additional points, while Anderson and Latino also performed well. As they head into the next day of qualifying, Glenn holds both the low elapsed time and top speed but remains aware of the competitiveness with Anderson. Both drivers navigate the fine line of supporting each other while maintaining a fierce rivalry. Qualifying continues at zMAX Dragway with two sessions scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
