Two-time Funny Car world champion Cruz Pedregon, who has over 30 years of experience in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series, aims for his first victory at Sonoma Raceway in nearly three decades during the 38th annual DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals. A Southern California native, Pedregon drives the Snap-on Tools Dodge Hellcat SRT and has fond memories of Sonoma, where he secured wins in 1996 and 1998. He described the event as a “home race,” emphasizing the passionate fan support from Northern California.

This year’s event features commemorations for NHRA legends, including Gary Scelzi, who garnered multiple titles in Top Fuel and Funny Car. Brittany Force is highlighted on the special ticket, showcasing her record-breaking run last season. The event will include a Nitro Mall and a variety of displays to celebrate NHRA’s 75th anniversary and features a full weekend of racing action, with elimination rounds broadcasted on FS1.

As the series moves into its second half, Pedregon aims to harness the momentum of previous performances to secure a win against formidable competitors like points leader Ron Capps and reigning champion Austin Prock. In addition, the event includes competitions across Top Fuel, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle, promising exciting matchups and fan engagement through various activities and ceremonies throughout the weekend.
