Season 4 of Horsepower Wars, presented by Summit Racing, is nearing its conclusion, with excitement building around the C10 Shootout competition and the concerning chatter of potential engine damage. The episode showcases the builds, specifically the Big 10 and Coyote 10 trucks. As the competition approached, the Big 10 faced challenges, including waiting for its engine from LME and using a mock-up engine temporarily. Meanwhile, Coyote 10 continued to progress with its extensive fabrication work.

Both teams ordered driveshafts from Wiles Driveshaft, tailored to handle their 1,400 horsepower output. Carbon fiber driveshafts were chosen for their safety and lightweight benefits, as well as their ability to reduce harmonic vibrations. The teams utilized Earl’s Pro-Lite plumbing for cooling and fuel systems, while both trucks deployed Holley EFI systems but differed in wiring due to their initial conditions.

Both builds emphasized weight reduction and utilized high-performance parts like Moroso battery cables and innovative ECU controls to streamline their setups. The Big 10 weighed in at 3,453 lbs, and the Coyote 10 at 3,320 lbs, providing insights into their performance capabilities.

Prior to competition, extensive testing ensued, revealing impressive dyno results. The Big 10 reached over 1,470 horsepower, while the Coyote 10 managed 1,330 horsepower at notable boost levels. The finale promises to unveil the competition’s outcome, while teasers hint at exciting future series from Horsepower Wars.
