We recently pitted the 1,064-horsepower Chevrolet Corvette C8 ZR1 against my daily driver, the Tesla Model S Plaid, in a thrilling drag race that represented the ultimate gas vs. electric showdown. With its turbocharged power, the ZR1 launched aggressively, showcasing the raw power of rear-wheel drive. In contrast, the Plaid utilized its all-wheel drive capabilities, delivering the instant torque it’s known for and achieving seamless acceleration. As we raced down the quarter-mile, both cars were evenly matched, pushing the boundaries of performance in their unique ways.
