NHRA Funny Car driver and Hull Racing team owner Buddy Hull recently traded nitro for NASCAR at the Wurth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway, where he was a special guest of Ford Racing. Accompanied by his wife, Madi, Hull received a behind-the-scenes experience that included an exclusive media center tour and access to pit road. The highlight for Hull was watching the race from the pit box of Austin Cindric, driver of the No. 2 Ford for Team Penske.

“I’m really thankful to Ford Racing for having Madi and me out here today,” Hull expressed, appreciating the chance to observe a different motorsport environment. His experience included in-depth conversations with Ford Racing engineer Thomas Ciccone, focusing on the data and technology that play a significant role in NASCAR performance. Hull noted, “There are definitely parallels to what we do in the NHRA, but also a lot of differences.”

Hull was joined by Brian Huth, general manager of Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford, a key supporter of Hull Racing. Despite being more comfortable in his 12,000-horsepower Nitro Funny Car, Hull welcomed the opportunity to experience NASCAR. “If I’m going to spend a Sunday away from the driver’s seat, this is about as good as it gets,” he said.
