The inaugural Chaos SuperNationals, part of the Funny Car Chaos Series, successfully took place at Norwalk, Ohio, despite disruptions from rainouts during Memorial Day weekend. Sponsored by Comp Cams, the event marked the series’ first visit to the Bader family facility, featuring a full lineup of eliminations across various categories. Former Top Fuel racer Alan Bradshaw clinched the A-field title by defeating Keith Zimmerer with a 3.642-second run at 206.16 mph, after also besting Robbie Massey and Lance Van Hauen en route to the final. Zimmerer reached the final by overcoming Bobby Martin and Justin Millott.

Dale Ducci claimed the B-field title when Kurt Duckworth faced mechanical issues in the final, where Ducci recorded a 4.219-second run at 173.61 mph. Joe Perone secured the C-field championship with a time of 4.070 seconds at 180.19 mph, defeating Jordan Ballou, who posted a 4.276-second run.

In Nitro Chaos action, Dave Hill triumphed over Gary Wheeler with a 3.610-second pass at 215.31 mph, while Wheeler finished with a 3.670-second effort. Chuck Lofton rounded out the winners by taking the Nitro Chaos B title after finishing in 3.943 seconds at 176.21 mph against Anthony Whitfield, who experienced difficulties resulting in an 8.080-second run. Overall, the event emphasized the growing popularity of nostalgia-style Funny Cars and diverse engine combinations within the racing community.
