Monty Bogan and Lauren Freer achieved significant victories at the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals, held at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, NC. Bogan won the Competition Eliminator, marking his seventh NHRA National event Wally, while Freer claimed her eighth title in Super Comp, securing her first victory at her hometown track.

Other winners included Kent Hanley in Super Stock, David Barton in Stock Eliminator, Tim Powell in Super Gas, Keith Mayers in Super Street, Robert Houston in Top Dragster, and Frank Altilio in Top Sportsman.

Bogan’s victory came against Joe Carnasciale, where he recorded a run of 8.410 at 150 mph, gaining an initial starting line advantage. Hanley, with a 9.296 at 136 mph, defeated Patrick Glade after also getting a starting line edge. Barton triumphed over Jeff Strickland with a crucial .007 starting line advantage, running a 10.386 on his dial-in. Freer edged past Vance Houston, clocking 8.920 at 180 mph after a close starting line battle.

The event witnessed remarkable performances, with semi-finalists including Walter Zalak, Marion Stephenson, and others across different categories.
