At the Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, Jack Beckman, Doug Kalitta, and Greg Anderson secured the No. 1 qualifying spots in their respective classes. Beckman led the Funny Car category with a 3.879-second run at 330.63 mph, marking his fourth top qualifier of the season. He expressed confidence in his car’s performance after facing challenges earlier in the season. Beckman will face Dave Richards in eliminations on Sunday after winning the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge against Matt Hagan.

In Top Fuel, Kalitta achieved his seventh top qualifier of the season with a time of 3.655 at 339.36 mph. Despite a recent final-round loss in the Mission Challenge, he remains optimistic about entering eliminations against Terry Totten, taking advantage of a bye into the semifinals due to low car participation.

Anderson topped the Pro Stock class with a 6.555 at 207.59 mph and aims for his first Brainerd win since 2011, matching up against Chris Vang in the first round. Following this achievement, he also won the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge, defeating teammate Dallas Glenn.

In the Challenge, Langdon claimed victory in Top Fuel, while Anderson celebrated a perfect day in Pro Stock, giving themselves momentum as they head into eliminations. Overall, momentum builds as the competitors prepare for significant upcoming races, including the U.S. Nationals and the Countdown to the Championship.
