At the 66th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals, Matt Hagan clinched a historic victory by winning the 1,000th Funny Car race in NHRA history, defeating Ron Capps. Hagan’s run of 3.876 seconds at 330.39 mph in his Johnson’s Horsepowered Garage Dodge//SRT Hellcat highlighted the race, securing the milestone title with an impressive side-by-side finish.

Additionally, Tony Stewart captured his first Top Fuel win for Elite Motorsports with a standout performance, clocking in at 3.683 seconds. This win marked a significant milestone in Stewart’s NHRA journey, taking him to victory against Justin Ashley in the championship round.

In the Pro Stock category, six-time champion Greg Anderson continued his dominance, achieving a record-tying 17th victory at Pomona Dragstrip. He edged out teammate Dallas Glenn with a run of 6.505 seconds, solidifying his place in NHRA history with 113 career wins.

The event also celebrated various Lucas Oil Sportsman winners, including Doug Gordon, who made a notable comeback to win in Top Alcohol Funny Car, and local racer Justin Morris, who captured his first national event win in Super Comp. As the 2026 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series continues, the next event is the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway, taking place from April 24-26.
