The 75th annual Grand National Roadster Show, held at the Pomona Fairplex, highlighted the enduring excitement surrounding hot rodding and custom cars. The event attracted a record-setting crowd and featured an impressive display of award-winning vehicles, including the largest collection of past America’s Most Beautiful Roadster (AMBR) and Slonaker award recipients ever shown together. Central to the event was a retrospective of 16 custom creations by George Barris, the legendary “King of the Kustomizers.” This exhibit showcased iconic vehicles like the Hirohata Merc, Barris’ AMBR winners from the late ’50s and early ’60s, the Batmobile, and the Munster Coach and Dragula from the iconic TV show, “The Munsters.”
In addition to the Barris showcase, attendees enjoyed a variety of trucks entered in competition, alongside nearly 1,000 hot rods featured in another gallery over the three-day weekend. The enthusiasm for the event underscores the ongoing popularity of car culture, with fans eager to witness these finely crafted vehicles.
Looking ahead, the 76th Grand National Roadster Show is scheduled to return to the Pomona Fairplex from January 30 to February 1, 2026, promising even more automotive highlights and celebrations of creativity in the realm of custom cars.
