John Force Racing (JFR), a dominant name in NHRA drag racing, announced the addition of a third Funny Car for the 2026 season, confirming a rumor first surfaced in November. Six-time Funny Car winner Alexis DeJoria will pilot this new entry, marking her as the first woman outside the Force family to join the organization. DeJoria expressed excitement about this opportunity, which she previously thought was unattainable. Her journey began in 2005 with Super Gas and Top Alcohol Funny Car, and she cherishes the opportunity to drive for John Force, whom she considers a mentor and inspiration.

After beginning discussions with JFR in late 2024, DeJoria initially raced for Joe Maynard’s JCM Racing team but found the door to JFR reopened. The partnership also reaffirms her connection with Chevrolet, a brand with deep personal significance. DeJoria believes that joining a multi-car environment will foster camaraderie and enhance her performance through data sharing and teamwork.

John Force highlighted DeJoria’s competitive spirit and alignment with JFR’s values as key reasons for their collaboration. Looking forward, DeJoria aims to compete for a championship with her new team, fully confident in the resources and equipment JFR provides. Further announcements about JFR’s 2026 lineup are expected soon, continuing to build excitement around this dynamic team expansion.
