The 6th annual Red, White, and Blue 5-Day at Gulfport Dragway in Mississippi kicked off the 2026 bracket racing season, featuring a week of competitive races with significant prize money. The event included Twin $25K races on Tuesday and Wednesday, Twin $40K races on Thursday and Saturday, culminating in a grand $100,000 winner on Friday. Bottom Bulb racers also competed for daily bonuses ranging from $500 to $1,000.

AJ Ashe distinguished himself by winning the $100,000 prize on Friday, defeating Gage Burch in the final all-door-car round. Donovan Williams shone earlier in the week, winning and taking the runner-up spot both Tuesday and Wednesday, ultimately earning the points champion title.

Throughout the week, participants saw exciting matchups: on Tuesday, Donovan Williams claimed $25,000 with semis going to Doug Foley Jr. and Tanner Miller. Wednesday featured Billy Fuller Jr. winning $25,000 by defeating Trampus Stewart, with Larry Seguin earning the bottom bulb bonus. On Thursday, Billy Burns took home $40,000 after beating Kenny Underwood. Saturday’s finale saw Wes May win the last $40,000 race against Zach Hitchcock.

Megan Strassweg, an avid racer and journalist from Indiana, blends her passions for drag racing and journalism, contributing to DragChamp while also competing in the NHRA North Central Division 3 Super Comp series. She continues to demonstrate her commitment to the sport.
